I made cake pops for the first time a couple weeks ago.

When I was reading through my book about them it said to set aside 4 hours

They weren't kidding

One day I made the cake balls then refrigerated them

and the next day I dipped them in the candy coating and decorated them

It took me close to 5 hours to make them when it was all said and done

I thought they turned out cute for my first attempt

and I was excited for everyone to try them

I searched all over town for Styrofoam to stick them in and finally had to purchase some from one of the flower shops in town

Then I arranged them all cute in a basket

I had to drive them to Alpine along with 50 cupcakes

I get everything loaded...

I am driving carefully and I come to a stop sign....

I stop nice and slowly

and my cake pops tipped over!

I was a little angry.

I picked them up and set them where I could hold them

ran into Safeway to grab something then realized I forgot something at my house

so I drove home got out of the truck and I heard the cake pops fall

They went upside down on the floor of the truck

I was devastated to say the least

I starting sobbing..I would like to say just crying but I was almost hysterical

I was already running late and I didn't have time to fix them so I just left for Alpine

As I was decorating cupcakes in Alpine I got a call from Mark

He said he fixed them the best he could and sent them with our neighbors who were headed up to Alpine

I did have the sense to take a picture of the cake pops before I left my house just in case!

Some of my frosting on top got a little messed up but there was still enough for people to enjoy

I love that my husband fixed them for me because he knew how much work I put into them

I can laugh about the whole experience now...but it was touchy for awhile!

Now I know to arrange them after I get to my destination!
